My gay historical bathroom cruising game "The Tearoom" is part of a new upcoming group exhibition "Voluntary Attempts to Overcome Necessary Obstacles" at the EFA Project Space in New York City, curated by Nicholas O’Brien. The show will run for about a month, from September 23rd to October 29th, 2022. Although I won't be there, since I currently live on the opposite side of the planet , I encourage you to check it out.

We released Godot 3.5 in early August, and like any release, there are few rough edges to iron out which warrant making maintenance "patch" releases (3.5.x). We've had successful testing of a first Release Candidate for 3.5.1, and a few more fixes got backported in the meantime so let's have another round of testing before publishing 3.5.1 stable.

As a long-time fan of the dice-and-paper RPG for Cyberpunk, designed by Mike Pondsmith, I was absolutely thrilled to learn that CD Projekt Red was tacking that game universe. That was back in 2013 or something when they did this absolutely amazing concept video. They nailed the “feel” of the game world… which of course borrowed liberally from genre stories by authors like William Gibson, Bruce Sterling, Walter Jon Williams, and George Alec Effinger.

The Superman movie (1978) was mind-blowing. (I’m old enough to remember when Superman was a good guy.) A new Star Trek series was an impossible dream.

I didn’t know if I’d attend Gamescom this year (it would have been also my first one), but after a bit of courage and going there anyways by myself, I really cannot wait for the next one to come. It was a wonderful experience, met some incredibly talented and passionate developers and said hi to some close and new dev friends in person as well. Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. Entertainment are slated to release the new Hogwarts Legacy game set in the world of the long-running Harry Potter series. There was footage of the common rooms and brand-new gameplay that was released earlier this month- which gave an insight into the game mechanics, setting, and characters to an extent. Along with the pre-order already live for the release in February 2023, the game is garnering a lot of traction in the media.

Art by @nadi_bulochka Alejandro González Iñárritu is the third person in cinema history to win two consecutive Oscars for directing. He is the first Mexican to win the Oscar for Best Film. At the same time, there is not a single film of his that has not been nominated for a golden statuette. Iñárritu is part of a company of three Mexican directors, the "three Amigos", which in addition to him includes Alfonso Cuarón and Guillermo del Toro.
